Trusted Systems Services has been in business since 1986. In the early days we architected several high-end "B-level" versions of secure UNIX. We were one of the first companies to dedicate ourselves to Windows NT security -- back when it was 3.1! Our textbook Windows NT Security Guide (Addison-Wesley) was the second one on the subject. We've done a lot of security consulting, government projects, training, and software, mostly Windows NT. Today our primary business is creating, selling and supporting our own security software for Windows NT/2000. While we still do some security consulting, most of this work is custom installation of our AdvancedChecker product. Our years of consulting and high-end Windows NT research have convinced us that most administrators have a pretty good handle on how they want to set up, monitor, and fix their Windows NT/2000/XP security. What they need are powerful, flexible, and easy-to-use tools to do so, hence, our flagship products AdvancedChecker and SuperCACLS, which, although no longer sold to new customers, have been resoundingly successful in the Windows NT/2000/XP community. There are so many Windows NT/2000 "security experts" in the world today that we don't really push our opinion any more. Just one small voice in a world of high energy sales pitches. Perhaps our most popular item is our Windows NT Security Guidelines originally commissioned by the National Security Agency. Over 50,000 administrators have downloaded and used this document. (LP) |
